Nottingham Forest have blown half of England’s pundits away this season, with Alan Shearer one of the latest to share his approval of one player in particular.
Gary Lineker has had a bit of a stinker when it comes to Nottingham Forest this season, as he predicted them to go down and has now backtracked, calling himself stupid.
The fact that it’s his Leicester City side that sit in the relegation zone is quite ironic, with Nottingham Forest quite literally at the opposite end of the table.
It remains to be seen as to whether the Reds can keep it up, but they’re showing no signs of slowing down at this moment in time.
Alan Shearer has been speaking about Nottingham Forest’s rise this season, and he decided to focus on one player in particular.
Alan Shearer really impressed by Elliot Anderson at Nottingham Forest
Elliot Anderson made the move to Nottingham Forest for around £35 million in the summer from Newcastle United.
He’s slotted straight into Nuno Espirito Santo’s plans, playing a big part in their meteoric rise, especially when Morgan Gibbs-White spent a period out injured.
Speaking on the Rest is Football, Alan Shearer has shared his approval for Elliot Anderson’s performances in a Nottingham Forest shirt this season.
“What a season he’s having. It’s been a great move for him, he’s got an energy about him, a class about him.”
Elliot Anderson one of the signings of the summer
Everyone speaks about Nikola Milenkovic, but Anderson has played a huge part too.
The Englishman has stepped in when needed and put in performances of the highest order, which has allowed Nottingham Forest to keep their foot on the gas.
Even Joey Barton said Anderson should be in the England squad and that he’s been better than Kobbie Mainoo so far this season.
He’s still very much at the start of his career to, so the future is looking very bright.
