Report: Nottingham Forest made request to sign Bayern Munich star who wowed Harry Kane in 2023

Nottingham Forest are going to be actively looking to strengthen the squad during the January transfer window.
With the Reds sitting in third place in the Premier League, Evangelos Marinakis will be keen to back Nuno Espirito Santo in the transfer market.
Yuri Alberto is one player that Forest are looking at as a potential option to compete with Chris Wood for a place in the team.
Elsewhere there could be departures, with Andrew Omobamidele attracting interest from two clubs in the EFL this month.
Espirito Santo has surprised Jamie Redknapp this season and he will be hoping to get at least one new player in to keep the momentum on Trentside.
The Reds will have a list of players on a shortlist and perhaps one of those is going to leave Forest frustrated this month as he prepares to stay put.

Mathys Tel to stay at Bayern Munich amid Nottingham Forest interest
The 19-year-old forward signed for the Bavarian giants from Rennes and he’s viewed as a top talent by the Bundesliga outfit.
In 81 appearances for Bayern, he’s managed 16 goals and six assists, with the future looking very bright for Tel.
This season has been a struggle though and he’s made just 12 appearances, with only two of those coming as starts in the league.
Despite that, it would appear, according to Sky Sports Germany, that he’s going to be staying with Bayern beyond this month.
Werder Bremen, Stuttgart and Augsburg all made enquiries along with Forest who had hoped to bring the player to the City Ground.
Signing a young striker looks like the best thing for Forest to do this month.
Wood has scored 12 goals so far this season and it wouldn’t seem right for anyone to come in and expect to immediately replace him in the team.
What Harry Kane said about Forest linked Mathys Tel
At the start of the 2023/24 campaign Tel was playing well and scoring goals in the Bayern team and he caught the eye of Kane.
He told Bavarian Football Works: “He’s started the season really well. I like the way he trains. He’s always pushing himself and is fully committed. Every time he came in he made a difference and was very confident. We’ll need all players.”
Tel would have been a fantastic addition to the Forest ranks and he fits the profile of what the recruitment team at the club are trying to attract.
At 19, Tel clearly feels that he wants to give himself a little bit more time to make waves at Bayern but maybe this is one that Forest will keep tabs on ahead of the summer window.
