Media deliver exciting verdict on Nottingham Forest striker Dale Taylor after two-goal haul

Nottingham Forest allowed Dale Taylor to move away from the club on loan again during the summer transfer window.

A largely successful loan spell with Wycombe saw him play – and score – in the EFL Trophy final as the Chairboys lost to Peterborough at Wembley.

Now, the Forest gem has gone to Wigan Athletic in League One and he’s busy trying to make a name for himself in the third tier.

Taylor is tipped for big things at Forest and has been praised by Gary Brazil when he was the Academy Director at the City Ground.

Last night, the youngster was once again in action for the Latics – and Taylor was hoping to get some retribution on Peterborough.

Media deliver exciting verdict on Nottingham Forest talent Dale Taylor

The talented striker is finally up and running for the 2024/25 campaign and he bagged another two goals against Peterborough last night.

It was a superb win for Wigan as they thrashed the promotion hopefuls 3-0 at the DW Stadium and Taylor bagged two goals and registered an assist.

Wigan Today scored the Forest man 8/10 for his efforts and said: “First two goals for the club and an assist for McManaman represented a very good night indeed for the on-loan Nottingham Forest man.”

Taylor made it sixth time lucky last night, scoring on his sixth outing for the Latics and now he will hope to get regular stats and fire more often.

Taylor can shine at Forest in the future

As long as Forest remain in the Premier League, the harder it will be for Taylor to force his way into the team at the City Ground.

That is simply the nature of the beast though and it might not be through any fault of Taylor if he doesn’t earn a chance.

However, he’s scored goals wherever he’s played football on loan for Forest and ultimately that is a very positive sign for the 20-year-old.

Taylor is an all-action sort of centre-forward and he’s definitely outgrown development football that he would have been part of at Forest.

Now, he’s off and running for Wigan and hopefully, there will be more goals to come as the season progresses.
