'Really good': Troy Deeney says Nottingham Forest's European hopes rest on one player, and it's not Chris Wood

Troy Deeney has been causing quite a stir among Nottingham Forest fans this season after taking over Team of the Week duties from Garth Crooks.
Forest won at Liverpool and Manchester United earlier in the season and after both games, none of the team’s players were selected.
Deeney did praise Ola Aina after the win over Brentford but his picks for the Reds have been few and far between this season.
Morgan Gibbs-White celebrated wildly after scoring the first goal in a 3-0 win last night and he’s one of several picks from Forest in the pundit’s latest compilation.
Troy Deeney hails Forest star Morgan Gibbs-White
Gibbs-White was praised by Carragher during the game with Wolves and pundits are queuing up to rave about him it would seem.
The 24-year-old was in fine form last night and he really rammed the vile chants from the Wolves fans back down their throats.
Deeney picked Gibbs-White for his Team of the Week and told BBC Sport that he’s extremely important for the team.
He said: “Got the goal against his old team and handled the occasion really well. If he continues to play as he has been doing recently I think Forest will end up in Europe. Really good performance and now he needs to keep it up.”

Murillo and Nikola Milenkovic also came in for some praise from Deeney when picking this week’s team.
Deeney said: “Other teams played well this week but it’s another clean sheet for Forest. They’re two proper centre-backs and watching them it makes you happy to see them play and I thought they were excellent yet again.
“They put their bodies on the line. Two solid centre-backs who do their job and give Forest the confidence that no matter what happens they’re always going to be in the game with these two.”
Matz Sels was also inspired and he was picked as the goalkeeper this week.
The pundit claimed: “Sels made three massively important saves in the game at 0-0 and 1-0 to keep them ahead.”
Finally, Nuno Espirito Santo didn’t escape praise and he was picked as the manager for this week’s team.
Deeney said of the Forest head coach: “An emotional game for him going back to Wolves, his old club, but he delivered. He was calm, collected, every substitution was well thought out and worked well.”
Forest fans will be delighted to see their stars finally get some recognition.
It’s refreshing to hear the players getting talked about more frequently and hopefully, the positive results can continue to come as the season progresses.
