Nottingham Forest will be hoping to once again shuffle the pack during the January transfer window.

With Forest flying high in the Premier League at he moment, it will be a case of minor tweaks rather than wholesale changes.

Forest have been linked with Yuri Alberto this month and when it comes to incoming deals, a striker would surely be the order of the day.

The squad is settled, however, and Nuno Espirito Santo has been praised this season for his efforts at getting a settled group of players.

There will definitely be some outgoings this month and that appears necessary as Forest look to ensure the squad remains streamlined.

Leeds United and Sheffield United want Andrew Omobamidele

The defender signed from Norwich City for £11 million hasn’t played for Forest in the Premier League this season.

As a result, the Reds will listen to offers for the player this month and it appears that Leeds are keen to try and buy him in the summer.

Daniel Farke gave Omobamidele his debut at Carrow Road and he now wants to bring the Forest man in and bolster his rearguard at Leeds.

According to The Sun, Farke wants the centre-back on loan until the end of the season with an obligation to buy him for £10 million this summer.

Forest’s nemesis over the years, Sheffield United are also keen but are more interested in a straight loan deal until the summer.

Omobamidele made 14 appearances for Forest last season and did a good job when called upon following the arrival of Espirito Santo.

With the arrival of Nikola Milenkovic and Morato, however, he’s slid down the pecking order and is now available for transfer this month.

Omobamidele needs game time and Leeds move could be perfect

Both Leeds and the Blades would provide attractive transfers for Omobamidele with both clubs in the mix for automatic promotion.

Leeds would surely be the move that both parties will push for though, with Omobamidele playing under Farke before and Forest knowing that they will receive £10 million in the summer.

The deal to sign Omobamidele was a decent one in hindsight.

He signed for the club as a player with bags of potential and he certainly fitted the profile of the type of recruitment shift that Forest were trying to make.

However, with expectations now shifting at Forest, it would appear that Omobamidele is going to remain down the pecking order if he stays on Trentside.

Regular game time is what he needs and heading to Leeds looks like the perfect move for his career at this stage.
