Nottingham Forest are absolutely flying right now in the Premier League, and fans are starting to take notice as Chris Wood and Nuno Espirito Santo both scooped up monthly awards.

Chris Wood has given Erling Haaland a run for his money in the current Premier League campaign, scoring an impressive eight goals in ten games for Nottingham Forest.

The New Zealand international has just scooped up the Premier League Player of the Month award.

Believe it or not, Wood is the first Nottingham Forest player to ever pick up the award.

He isn’t the only one celebrating though, as Nuno Espirito Santo also got his hands on the Premier League Manager of the Month award for October.

Interestingly, the whole squad and staff gathered and celebrated for a photo, with one player in particular coming over straight away to congratulate Wood.

Chris Wood really has defied expectations this season, which has left pundits like Nedum Onuoha stunned at how good he has been.

Morgan Gibbs-White has been a big supporter of Chris Wood since he moved to the City Ground, both on and off the pitch.

Funny enough, he was the first player to go over to the striker and congratulate him on winning the award, and even held it himself.

Nottingham Forest posted a video of the squad picture involving Nuno, Wood and their awards on their X account.

It’s a brilliant watch.

Europe has to be the target for Nottingham Forest

Nottingham Forest currently find themselves in third position in the Premier League after ten games.

The two most impressive things about their start to the season is the solitary loss, which only Manchester City and Liverpool can match. As well as having the second best defensive record.

Evangelos Marinakis has made fans well aware of his ultimate ambition being to take Nottingham Forest into Europe after enjoying success with Olympiacos.

And it looks like his side are getting closer to making his dreams come true.

Of course, it won’t be easy and there are tough games ahead, including Newcastle at the City Ground this weekend, but Nuno Espirito Santo has done it before with Wolves.
