Sevilla want to take advantage of Lamare Bogarde's contract situation at Aston Villa and potentially sign him on the cheap this summer.
That's according to Estadio Deportivo, while Orgullo de Biri report that Monchi could help speed up negotiations with his former club.
Estadio explain that Sevilla are already working ahead of next season, with improvements in midfielder needed in particular.
Aston Villa's Lamare Bogarde is a name they have on their agenda, and they already inquired about him in the January transfer window when the Villans were chasing Loïc Badé.
Sevilla intend to 'take advantage' of the fact that the youngster is entering the final year of his contract, which expires in 2026, this summer and that could force Aston Villa into sanctioning a cheaper deal to avoid losing him on a free.
Orgullo de Biri add their take to the matter, reporting that Sevilla re 'closely monitoring' the Aston Villa man.
They consider him an interesting option to reinforce their squad and the believe is that their relationship with Monchi, their former director of football, can 'facilitate his arrival in Spain.
That seems slightly optimistic as Monchi didn't leave Sevilla on the best of terms, but they have been working on that relationship since so perhaps that has now changed.
Either way, Bogarde is very much a potential target for Sevilla ahead of the summer if he doesn't' sign a new contract at Villa Park.
