Luton Town have made a £1.3m bid for Exeter City attacker Millenic Alli, sources have told Football Insider.

Alli caught the eye of Bristol City, Cardiff and Blackburn in the summer after his impressive performances for Exeter last season.

Luton are keen to add a striker in January, and have made a £6million offer that was rejected for Wycombe forward Richard Kone.

Alli is capable of playing anywhere across the front line, after spending most of last season appearing as a left-winger, he has been Exeter’s main striker this year.

The forward is currently contracted to Exeter until 2026, after signing a two-and-a-half year deal in January 2024.

With time running out in the January transfer window, the Hatters are doing everything they can to secure a new number nine.

Kone would be an obvious upgrade to the options that Luton currently have, with the Ivorian scoring 16 goals for the Chairboys this season.

Alli’s goal-scoring exploits are less impressive, having only tallied nine league goals in 25 matches this season, and four goals the year before.

However, his versatility across a number of positions would make him a tidy addition for Matt Bloomfield’s side.

Carlton Morris is currently the top goal-scorer for Luton with seven goals, and the Hatters are the fourth-lowest scorers in the Championship this season.

In other news, Wrexham are plotting to sign on of Luton’s strikers this January.
