TBR Football understands that David Moyes is hopeful he can persuade Dominic Calvert-Lewin to sign a new deal at the club despite continued interest from both the Premier League and Europe.

Moyes has returned to Everton to try and keep them in the Premier League and despite their relegation fears, the club are planning for life in the top-flight.

England international Calvert-Lewin is out-of-contract at the end of the season and can leave for nothing, and he is not short of interest.

However, Moyes believes he can get the striker to stay.

David Moyes wants Dominic Calvert-Lewin to stay at Everton with Newcastle and Fulham keen

Eddie Howe remains a huge fan of the player and wants Newcastle to take him to St James’ Park, whilst we are told that Bournemouth, Fulham, Nottingham Forest and West Ham all hold an interest.

Whilst on the continent the likes of AC Milan, Atalanta, Eintracht Frankfurt and Valencia hold an interest.

However, TBR Football’s chief correspondent Graeme Bailey can reveal that Moyes is understood to have told his new bosses the Friedkin Group that there is a chance he can persuade the 27-year-old to continue his career on Merseyside.

Calvert-Lewin has suffered with a number of injuries since moving to Goodison Park but enjoyed a fine season back in 2021, scoring 16 goals to show what he is capable of.

Calvert-Lewin is ‘unplayable’ on his day

Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s career at Everton has been seriously hampered by injuries but there is no doubting his ability when he’s fit and firing.

Scoring 16 goals in a Premier League season is an achievement in itself and you have to question if Everton would be struggling had he been fit and developed further over the years.

Jamie Carragher once called Calvert-Lewin ‘unplayable‘ and to be fair to the Sky Sports pundit, that’s an accurate assessment when Calvert-Lewin is firmly on it.

Everton fans will be hoping Moyes can work his magic here and get the best out of their striker and in turn, convince him to stay.
