Oscar Fraulo has been left pleased that FC Utrecht have not allowed his loan deal to be ended to let him join Derby County.

That's according to journalist Tim Reedijk, via Utrecht Fans, who says the player was not particularly keen on the move.

Fraulo is currently on loan at the Dutch side from Borussia Mönchengladbach until the end of the season but had been linked with a move to Derby this month.

Reports had indicated that the League One side were looking at the 21-year-old midfielder this month.

The belief was that a loan deal could be secured as he has only featured in 36% of the available minutes in the Eredivisie this season. The idea would be for his loan deal to be cancelled and then Mönchengladbach would send him to Derby for the remainder of the season, perhaps on the same deal that had a purchase clause included in it.

However, according to Reedijk, the Dutch club does not want to say goodbye to Fraulo in this transfer window.

“Derby County hoped to loosen Oscar Fraulo at Borussia Mönchengladbach, which rents him out to FC Utrecht,” he is quoted as saying. However, FC Utrecht does not want him to go and that won't be happening.

“And in the end, he is also very happy with that," manager Ron Jans is quoted as saying on the matter also.

It seems then, that Fraulo may have indicated he is not keen on the idea and has put an end to any transfer talk this month, putting an end to any hopes Derby County may have had.
