Chelsea forward Joao Felix has directed a message to Pedro Neto on social media amid speculation about his future.

The Blues are set to face reigning Premier League champions Man City on 25 January after ending a frustrating five-match winless streak with a 3-1 victory over Wolves.

Felix, however, made only a brief cameo in that game, coming on with just six minutes remaining at Stamford Bridge.

The Portuguese international has been linked with a potential loan move to AC Milan, with Man United duo Joshua Zirkzee and Rasmus Hojlund also being considered by the Italian giants [ESPN].

Despite these rumours, Felix appeared in high spirits as he took to Instagram to repost Pedro Neto's story. The post featured a photo of the two Portugal internationals, accompanied by the Portuguese flag and a sparkle emoji, showing their camaraderie.

Chelsea may need to cut their losses on Joao Felix

Felix has been a rotational option for Enzo Maresca in his second stint with the West London club.

The Portuguese forward has delivered a respectable return of seven goals and two assists in 20 appearances this season. However, he has only managed three Premier League starts, as competition for places in Chelsea's attacking line remains fierce.

With options like Neto, Nicolas Jackson, Jadon Sancho, and Christopher Nkunku in the squad, regular game time has been hard to come by.

This lack of opportunities has reportedly unsettled other players, with Football Insider revealing in November that Nkunku is unhappy with his reduced role at the club.

With AC Milan’s interest in Felix, the Serie A side could offer him a fresh start alongside former Chelsea teammates Christian Pulisic and Fikayo Tomori.

The versatile forward is usually active on social media so the gesture may be insignificant on the surface. Yet, with his future at Stamford Bridge uncertain and opportunities limited, a move away could be the best option for his career.
