Liverpool fans are all saying the same thing about Federico Chiesa after PSV defeat

Liverpool are through to the last 16 of the Champions League as group-stage winners despite losing 3-2 at PSV Eindhoven.
The Reds took the lead in the 28th minute through a Cody Gakpo penalty, but Johan Bakayoko equalised seven minutes later.
Liverpool then went in front again as Harvey Elliott scored in the 40th minute, but late first-half goals by Ismael Saibari and Ricardo Pepi turned the game around for PSV.
Arne Slot’s much-changed side couldn’t get back into the game against a strong PSV side and so their 100 percent record in the Champions League came to an end.
Despite the defeat, there were still plenty of positives for Liverpool, including Federico Chiesa’s display, which led to Reds fans singing his praises.

Liverpool fans back Federico Chiesa for bright future at Anfield
Liverpool fans said Chiesa was one of the better players on the night and claimed that he’ll have a bright future at Anfield after a slow start.
“Was worried Chiesa couldn’t do 60, here was this madman running around the pitch at 90 minutes,” one fan wrote on X.
“His fitness is coming back, and that’ll do us a world of good.”
Another said: “Federico Chiesa is going to be a special player for Liverpool. Great performance, getting better every game.”
The praise for Chiesa kept coming, with one Liverpool fan writing: “Some really positive performances there tonight.
“Chiesa the massive plus point. It looks like our patience with his fitness is really paying off.”
Another said: “The fitter he gets, the better he gets and it's that simple. Without a shadow of a doubt Chiesa still has potential to be very good for us.”
Another wrote: “Chiesa looks fit and strong. Need to keep him healthy and get him more involved with the starters.”
How Chiesa fared for Liverpool v PSV
Chiesa won Liverpool the penalty for their opener and then forced the keeper into the save that led to Elliott's goal.
Admittedly, the Italy international did spurn a big chance when the game was goalless and then could’ve set up Elliott in space when he moved to the left flank.
Chiesa stats v PSV | |
Shots on target | 2 |
Dribble attempts (succ.) | 7 (3) |
Penalty won | 1 |
Touches | 50 |
Accurate passes | 14/19 (74%) |
Ground duels (won) | 18 (11) |
Tackles | 4 |
Nonetheless, Chiesa did very well for the most part, and the crucial thing is that he got a full 90 minutes under his belt.
Although Arne Slot is open to let Chiesa leave Liverpool this month, hopefully this display will see him turn a corner and stay put at Anfield.
