Wolves forward Matheus Cunha took to social media to send a message to the fans after it was revealed the club are braced for a late January bid.

Football Insider revealed (January 28) that Wolves are expecting bids to come in for the 25-year-old before the February 3rd transfer deadline.

It’s understood that Aston Villa, Arsenal, and Nottingham Forest all have a strong interest in the forward and are set to make a move this month.

Vitor Pereira’s side are under no pressure to sell in order to meet Premier League financial rules having already sold key duo Max Kilman and Pedro Neto for big fees in the summer transfer window.

Cunha remains a key figure in Wolves’ battle for survival, with the West Midlands side sitting in 18th, earning just 16 points from their 23 Premier League games.

The forward has been a rare bright spark for Wolves this season, 20 of his 23 games across all competitions, scoring ten goals, and providing four assists in his 1807 minutes of action.

Cunha took to Instagram to share an image from their FA Cup win over rivals West Brom one year ago, saying: “What a day.”

After three consecutive defeats to Champions League hopefuls Newcastle, Chelsea, and Arsenal, Wolves will host local rivals Aston Villa on Saturday (February 1).

Wolves will then face Championship side Blackburn in their FA Cup fourth round as they hope to salvage their season with a decent cup run.
