Manchester United head into the January transfer window with tons of work to do.

Manchester United have a new manager who will want new signings, and their league position is becoming evermore perilous.

Relegation isn't unrealistic for United at this point, and Ruben Amorim needs to change something if he's going to get the Red Devils out of this mess.

The January window is now open, and new signings are now a possibility.

Milos Kerkez has been linked to United for a little while now, and according to Ben Jacobs, speaking on the mufcMPB YouTube channel, a move to Old Trafford for Kerkez isn't seen as being impossible this month.

Milos Kerkez to Manchester United isn't impossible

Jacobs shared what he knows about Kerkez and United.

The journalist says that the Hungarian remains a target for United and that he's valued at around £40m.

£40m is a hefty fee for United, but Jacobs suggests that Bournemouth may allow a deal to be done on favourable terms and that a move this month isn't impossible.

"Milos Kerkez is still there. That is very much an old regime target but with new regime endorsements," Jacobs said.

"If Bournemouth were to sell mid-season, they would be looking for something in the region of £40m, so you would likely need an outgoing from Manchester United first in order to finance that one.

"Possibly, even though Bournemouth would be reluctant to move Kerkez on may allow payment terms to be more preferable to Manchester United such as a loan with an obligation to buy. So it's not impossible that we get some movement as far as Kerkez is concerned."

United aren't the only top team keen on Kerkez.

Indeed, Liverpool also like Kerkez, and it's easy to see why the Bournemouth star is being courted by top clubs.

Kerkez has been brilliant for The Cherries this term, and his numbers have been excellent.

Kerkez is effecting play at both ends of the pitch, and he's a brilliant modern left-back.

That said, whether or not he'd fit into Ruben Amorim's system is up for debate.

As Kerkez's stats show, the full-back does flourish defensively, but Amorim likes to use a 3-4-3 system where the wing-backs act as more attacking options, and that isn't necessarily the strongest part of Kerkez's game.

This is certainly a situation to keep an eye on as United need cover on that left side, and Kerkez clearly has admirers within Old Trafford.
