According to a claim in the Turkish media, Fenerbahce are closing in on a deal for Aston Villa defender Diego Carlos.
The Yellow Canaries have been linked with the Brazilian in recent weeks as Jose Mourinho makes it his priority to bolster his defensive options in this transfer window.
With a long-term injury to Jayden Oosterwolde, the Portuguese coach is desperate to sign a central defender before the deadline. Newcastle United's Lloyd Kelly was also linked with a move, but it seems the Super Lig giants have been priced out of a move for the 26-year-old.
Fotomac today report on Fenerbahce's pursuit for the Aston Villa player, and they say an agreement has been reached with him and the Premier League club.
It's clamed following talks a transfer fee of €13m has been agreed with Aston Villa and that Carlos has accepted an annual salary of €4m.
This season, the 31-year-old has found his chances limited with Villa and is reportedly keen to find a new club. He's featured in just ten Premier League games and hasn't been involved in the past two.
Carlos is contracted to Aston Villa until June 2026.
