Tottenham Hotspur are expected to be very busy in the final days of the transfer window.

Spurs haven’t been able to sign anybody apart from Antonin Kinsky this month. That has been really frustrating because several key senior players are currently out injured.

To make things worse, Tottenham are 15th in the Premier League table right now, and they could get dragged closer to the bottom three if results don’t improve.

Ange Postecoglou has claimed that the club are working really hard to bring someone in, and Daniel Levy seems to have personally taken some initiative.

What Daniel Levy is now prepared to do to sign Angel Gomes

Tottenham have been heavily linked with a move to sign Angel Gomes for a few months now.

The talented England midfielder has entered the final six months of his contract at Lille, and he is widely expected to leave the club on a free transfer in the summer.

Levy loves a bargain, and signing a player of Gomes’ quality on a free is a very tempting opportunity for the Tottenham chairman.

However, GiveMeSport have now claimed that Levy could accelerate his plans.

The report reveals that the Spurs chairman has made it his ‘personal mission’ to sign Gomes for Tottenham and is even prepared to pay a fee to get him before Monday’s deadline.

It has further been claimed that Tottenham have been in regular contact with the midfielder’s camp over a move and even held talks with them in France earlier this month.

However, despite Spurs’ desire to land him, the report claims that Gomes remains undecided over which club he wants to join next.

Tottenham’s backup option if Gomes move fails

Gomes is clearly Tottenham’s priority target for their midfield.

The 24-year-old, who has been likened to Barcelona legend Andres Iniesta by Breaking The Lines, has all the qualities to succeed in the Premier League, and we think he would be a great option for Spurs.

However, Gomes isn’t the only player Tottenham have worked on – the report claims that Lens’ Andy Diouf is someone Spurs are considering.

TBR Football exclusively revealed earlier in January that Tottenham enquired about signing Diouf, who is also a target for Crystal Palace.

Lens, however, are keen to keep hold of him until the end of this season.
