Liverpool are flying under Arne Slot so far this season.

The Reds have won seven out of eight Premier League games to sit top of the table – while conceding only three goals in those eight outings.

It has been a formidable effort from Andy Robertson, Ibrahima Konate, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold in defence, although Arne Slot now seems to want a more dynamic winger to compete against Luis Diaz based on reports from Germany.

Liverpool prepared to make Jamie Gittens offer

A story from BILD now states that Liverpool are ready to make a bid for Borussia Dortmund No.43 Jamie Gittens after his outstanding start to the 2024/25 campaign.

The England U21 international has scored four goals in ten appearances so far this season – while also providing three assists.

BILD do not reveal how much Liverpool would be willing to spend on Gittens – who Tottenham also want – but the German news outlet believe Borussia Dortmund would demand €100m (£83.4m) to sell the Londoner.

Should the Reds manage to sign the 20-year-old, it would leave Manchester City with egg on their face.

The Citizens actually lost Gittens for a mere €90,000 (£75,000) compensation fee – according to BILD – after the winger rejected a new contract at the Etihad Stadium to join Borussia Dortmund back in 2020, as he opted to try and emulate Jadon Sancho.

Arne Slot could be preparing to lose Luis Diaz

Diaz has started the 2024/25 campaign impressively with five goals and one assist in eight Premier League appearances so far, meaning links to Gittens are therefore confusing, seeing as both play on the left flank.

However, Diaz was strongly linked with an exit from Liverpool during the summer transfer window as Barcelona showed interest, so a departure for the Colombia international cannot be ruled out.

Interestingly, there were also rumours that Diaz would be tempted to join Barcelona given his love for the Spanish giants, so any fee received for the South American could well be put towards signings Gittens in 2025.
