Arsenal have decided to explore a move for another forward player after Bukayo Saka’s surgery, sources have told Football Insider.

The Gunners will be without talisman Saka, 23, for months after he underwent a procedure following a hamstring injury he picked up earlier in December.

It is believed Arsenal will move if the right option becomes available in the January window.

Mikel Arteta’s side have decided to look at the loan market for the new year, but cannot sign another player from a Premier League club unless they cancel Raheem Sterling or Neto’s deals at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal could also sign either player permanently to free up an additional domestic spot, or look abroad for a short-term Saka replacement.

Sources say the Gunners do not have the funds to pursue a permanent deal for another attacker in January, and additionally feel that the right targets will not be available mid-season.

Saka had notched nine goals and 13 assists across 24 games in the first half of the 2024-25 campaign.
