Wolves have reached an agreement for Vitor Pereira to replace Gary O’Neil at Molineux.
The man from Beckenham was handed his P45 after Saturday’s 2-1 defeat against Ipswich, a result which left Wolves 19th in the Premier League.

Fosun have wasted little time in finding a replacement, agreeing terms with Pereira and a €1m (£825,405) compensation package with Al-Shabab to bring the Portuguese tactician to the Midlands.
It will be the 56-year-old’s first taste of life in the Premier League.
While Wolves fans are presumably feeling optimistic for the future under Vitor Pereira – an experienced coach – Brazilian football expert Tim Vickery has now shared why supporters have reason to be distrusting of the man born in Espinho.
How Vitor Pereira burned his bridges at Corinthians
Football fans want to be able to trust the guy managing their beloved club, although some Wolves supporters may find that hard to do after hearing this story.
Vickery told BBC 5 Live Sport: “So he did pretty well with Corinthians and they didn’t want to lose him at the end of the year, but lose him they did, because – and here’s where it becomes a little bit sneaky and controversial – Vitor Pereira was saying, I’ve got to go back to Portugal.
“Love to stay, but I’ve got to go back to Portugal, its my mother-in-law, she’s not well. Then, the week after he left Corinthians, he signed for Flamengo in Rio (de Janeiro). He darkened his door a little bit there at Corinthians, I’m not sure they’d welcome him back in a hurry.”
Hopefully, Wolves fans do not witness a repeat of such an act at Molineux.
Vitor Pereira style of play
Many Wolves fans have been asking Google how Pereira – who will be reunited with Joao Gomes – sets his teams up.
The incoming replacement for O’Neil typically adopts a 3-4-3 formation, slightly tweaking that shape to a 3-4-2-1 in his last match for Al-Shabab, which was a 2-2 draw against Al Fateh.
Pereira can also be quite a fiery character.
That shape should suit the Wolves squad seeing as O’Neil used a 3-4-3 formation against Ipswich before he was sacked, meaning no major upheaval should be required tactically, which could help Pereira, who Everton once wanted, get off to a fast start.
