Fulham have endured an impressive start to the new season and are currently eighth in the Premier League table as they continue to exceed expectations.

Marco Silva’s side are above the likes of Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United and will look to carry on their momentum in the coming weeks.

The ongoing international break has proved to be quite productive, with as many as ten of their players receiving international call-ups.

Andreas Pereira got his name on the scoresheet for Brazil and Harry Wilson scored in both of his appearances for Wales, but it is another Fulham player who is making waves in his home country for his performances.

Raul Jimenez is a household name in the Premier League and made a massive impression with Wolverhampton Wanderers when they were promoted to the top flight under Nuno Espirito Santo.

However, after his head injury, he hasn’t been able to return to his best form as he continues to blow hot and cold.

Nonetheless, Fulham took a punt on him last summer and snapped him up for a £5.5m fee and the Mexican has done fairly well for the club.

On his international return for Mexico, the 33-year-old was the star of the show as he scored a fantastic free-kick and provided an assist for Cesar Huerta’s goal.

Mexican outlet Esto were blown away by his performance as they described him as the star of the show in the 2-0 win against USA.

Record also showered high praise on the experienced striker, describing him as the best player on the pitch.

“In the match against the United States, Jimenez was undoubtedly the best player. The forward opened the scoring with a great goal from a free kick in the 22nd minute.

“Minutes later he decided to do a scissor kick inside the area in search of a second goal.

“In the first half, the striker showed his excellent form by creating several dangerous plays, the best of which was when he sent a cross to the far post with a ‘rabona’. Unfortunately, none of these actions resulted in a goal.”
