Tottenham fans in agreement over what they hope will happen to Heung-min Son after win vs Hoffenheim

Heung-min Son netted twice in a crucial win for Tottenham Hotspur in the Europa League as they defeated Hoffenheim 3-2.

The captain scored once in the first half and then again in the second with James Maddison also returning to the score sheet.

Spurs now move back into the top eight of the Europa League group stages and the three points will alleviate some of the pressure on Ange Postecoglou.

After the game Spurs supporters were in agreement over what they hope will now happen to Son after his brace against the Bundesliga outfit.

Tottenham fans are hoping that his two impressive goals against Hoffenheim will help Heung-min Son get his confidence back.

The forward scored the second goal of the evening for the visitors with a rather fortunate effort which was deflected in off the defender and taken over the goalkeeper’s head.

But the 32-year-old’s second of the evening was vintage from the captain as a few stepovers left the Hoffeinheim defence dazzled before he used his other foot to find the far corner.

When asked about Son’s performance, Postecoglou told TNT Sport: “Yeah, he was brilliant, I thought the senior boys today were superb, Madders, Sonny, Rodri (Bentancur), they all really stood up and we needed them to as we were playing away in Europe with such a young team against an experienced side.”

It’s been a tough season for the South Korean, however, Spurs fans are hopeful now he can use this as the moment to kick on.

One fan said on X: “That’s the Heung Min Son we all love! What a lovely finish on his weaker foot. Hopefully, that’s the confidence boost he needs.”

Another Tottenham supporter added: “Classic son. Step over step over, unsaveable finish. And another Mikey Moore assist.

“The step over and a brilliant finish. That's the Son we know and love and have missed,” claimed another.

There was yet more praise for Son: “What a finish man. To think people wanted Son replaced.”

Finally, one fan claimed: “Good finish by Son. Need more of this return to form by him. Has not buried his chances this season.”

Son has built a career on being one of the best finishers the modern game has seen and in the latter stages of his career he is still showing impressive signs.

The forward has now netted ten times in all competitions this season and this could be his moment to kick-start his campaign.
