Wolverhampton Wanderers have turned their attention to Besiktas' Rafa Silva after missing out on Manu Silva.

That's according to journalist Luís Pinto Coelho, via Glorioso 1904, who reports that Wolves have the Portuguese midfielder in their sights.

He reports that Wolves are in the market for a new midfielder as they look to strengthen Vitor Pereira's squad before the end of the transfer window.

They missed out on Manu Silva earlier this month after he chose to join Benfica instead and so now have turned their attention to a former Benfica man instead.

The 31-year-old has been with the Turkish side since the summer when he joined them on a free transfer after eight years with Benfica.

He's been a regular for them this season, making 31 appearances in all competitions and managing 10 goals and seven assists to date.

Besiktas are unlikely to want to sell him and Glorioso report that there is no confirmation of Wolves' interest from the two clubs or from the player's agents. However, his name was put on the table by Pinto Coelho when he appeared on V+ TVI.

The journalist, who works for Bola Na Rede and Observador, insisted that Wolves are interested in the former Portugal international.

We'll take this with a pinch of salt because of the apparent lack of information, but Wolves targeting a Portuguese player at the end of the window wouldn't exactly be a surprising move.
