Birmingham City travel to Lincoln City this weekend for an exciting League One clash between two impressing promotion contenders.
Birmingham City are sure to be up against it this weekend as Lincoln City bid to build on their impressive start to the 2024/25 campaign.
After narrowly missing out on the play-offs last season following a late surge up the table, the Imps have registered 18 points in nine games with five wins, three draws and one defeat to their name. That sole defeat came in the second game of the season, making it seven matches without a league loss.
Michael Skubala’s side beat Leyton Orient 2-1 in their last game before the international break.
As for Birmingham City, they’ll be out to bounce back after a first defeat in their last League One tie. They were beaten 1-0 away from home by Nathan Jones’ Charlton Athletic but remain top of the table.
The Blues had won eight league games in a row prior to the trip to South London. They have looked like the unassailable force many anticipated they would be early on but the Addicks defeat shows they can be beaten.
Chris Davies’ side is easily the most expensive in League One history though, so they are bound to be favourites to win here.

“Their eight-game winning run showed some ominous signs but the Charlton Athletic defeat should have seen them brought back down to earth a bit. The Blues are bound to come unstuck at points in this season and I think they could be in for a shock against Lincoln City too.
“The Sincil Bank faithful can drum up one of the toughest atmospheres in the league on their day and with spirits high under Skubala, they’re bound to be bang up for this one.
“Both sides are solid at the back and boast some solid attacking talent, especially the visitors. I can see goals here, and the spoils might just end up being shared.”

“They are proving to be a tough team to play against at the moment and will be tricky opponents for Birmingham City.
