Birmingham City chairman Tom Wagner has said the Knighthead group remain ‘completely dedicated’ to their plans to invest more into the club for the future.
Birmingham City are eyeing promotion from League One this season under Chris Davies.
Their ownership is working hard behind the scenes on the day-to-day operations and have ambitious plans for the future as they look to eventually reach the Premier League.
Wagner has sent this message to supporters, as per the Blues’ X account: “From the start, we made promises to invest in the club, its community and its future. I’m please to say that we’ve kept those promises and continue to keep those promises. We’re completely dedicated to continue to invest in the project for the benefit of our club and this great city, not just for today but for the long-term.
“Our work extends to every area across the club, our leadership team is working hard, not only with our men’s first-team, but with the academy, the foundation and of course, our women’s team.”
Birmingham City grand plans
Birmingham City were relegated from the Championship in the last campaign after finishing in the bottom three with Rotherham United and Huddersfield Town.
However, slipping into the third tier was probably a blessing in disguise for them, as long as they can get out at the first attempt.
They are winning more games and there is a feel-good factor around the club.
Things haven’t been so positive since Wagner and co. took over at St Andrews. They got the Wayne Rooney appointment wrong last term.
However, you can’t fault their commitment to the cause and they backed the Blues heavily in the last transfer window.
They brought in the likes of Jay Stansfield, Lyndon Dykes, Scott Wright and Tomoki Iwata, among others, to bolster their ranks.
What now?
Birmingham City are sat in 2nd place in the table and are two points behind Wycombe Wanderers with a game in-hand.
The Blues have only lost once so far which shows they are a tough nut to crack in defence.
They will want to get the right blend in terms of their attacking options over the coming weeks and months.
Davies’ side drew 1-1 at home to Northampton Town last time out before the international break and weren’t able to put the game to bed.
They are back in action on 23rd November against Shrewsbury Town away.
