Garrett, 21, has been on the books at Ewood Park since 2012 and has risen up through the academy ranks of the Championship outfit. Prior to his move to the Lancashire outfit, he had spells at Merseyside pair Liverpool and Everton.

His switch to Bristol Rovers was the first time Rovers have loaned him out so far in his career. He has since made six appearances for the Gas since his move to the Memorial Ground, all of which have come in League One.

The Gas are currently sat in 16th place in the table and are five points above the drop zone. They are managed by former Exeter City and Rotherham United boss Matt Taylor.

How is Jake Garrett faring away from Blackburn Rovers?

Garrett’s time at Bristol Rovers hasn’t gone fully to plan yet and he is having to bide his time for opportunities.

The youngster hasn’t played in their last three games and has been left on the bench in two of them.

His last outing for the Gas was on 19th October against Huddersfield Town and he is facing a battle to get into Taylor’s starting XI.

Out of the 12 times he has made Bristol Rovers’ squad, he hasn’t been brought on in six of them.

After joining them, he told their website: “I am aiming to play as many games as possible and to contribute to the team positively. I will work hard every day in training to ensure that I can perform at my best for the weekend matches.

“I’ve had some really good discussions with the manager so far and it’s become apparent that the way the Club wants to play suits me, and I’m eager to be a part of it and to make a positive impact.”

Garrett made his debut for Blackburn Rovers back in 2022 in a Carabao Cup tie against Bradford City.

He has since gone on to play 41 matches altogether, finding the net on four occasions.

What now?

Garrett is due to spend the whole campaign at Bristol Rovers.

However, if he isn’t playing though, Blackburn Rovers may have a decision to make this winter.
