Cambridge United have signed Marko Marosi following his exit from Plymouth Argyle, as announced by their official club website.

Plymouth Argyle cut ties with the goalkeeper earlier this week following the end of his contract. PAFC decided not to extend his stay and he subsequently became a free agent again.

Marosi, 31, has now penned a deal until the end of the season at Cambridge United. They are currently sat in 21st place in the League One table.

He has told their website: “I am really happy to join. It’s new beginnings now for me and I am excited to be here. I have been there [battling relegation] before, it’s not nice to be in this position but it’s up to the team to come together and climb out [of the position]. Physically and mentally, I am good to go and itching to get going.”

Their boss Garry Monk added: “I am very pleased to add Marko to our ranks. He brings quality and plenty of experience at this level and will improve us by adding fantastic competition to our goalkeeping department.”
