Bristol Rovers travel to Field Mill to face Mansfield Town on Saturday afternoon as the Gas look to get back to winning ways in League One.

Bristol Rovers make the journey to Mansfield Town for their first away game in 28 days this weekend.

After back-to-back draws and only one goal scored in those two matches, the Gas’ worries won’t easy up as they travel well over 300 miles in total to face 7th-placed Mansfield Town.

Not only are the Stags flying so far this season, but Rovers also haven’t beat them since 2016 in a 1-0 home win, courtesy of a Matty Taylor goal.

An inconsistent campaign to date leaves Bristol Rovers 14th in the League One table and owing to their poor goal difference, a win would likely only lift them up one place.

Bristol Rovers team news

Matt Taylor had mixed news in his press conference, stating that Gatlin O’Donkor is fit and available for the first time since 5th October. Joel Senior is back in training too, and is pretty much ready to go; whereas Jack Hunt will be out for an extended period.

It makes it one in and one out at right-back for Bristol Rovers.

Promise Omochere took a slight knock against Crawley Town after just coming back from injury too and it remains to be seen whether he’s deemed fit to make the journey up to Mansfield.

Lino Sousa will still be unavailable due to an injury confirmed by Taylor last week.

Predicted XI

(4-2-3-1)

Griffiths; Moore, Taylor, Wilson, Mola; Conteh, Lindsay; Forde, McCormick, Hutchinson; Omochere.

If Taylor is to make any changes to his Bristol Rovers lineup, they are likely to be minimal.

Chris Martin may get a rest if Promise Omochere is fit. The summer signing offers a bit more presence up top, granted without that clinical eye for goal.

Who is the manager of Blackpool?

However, one relative certainty is that Taylor Moore will return from his suspension to a spot straight back in the starting XI. The defender has been in consistent form for the Gas this season and should be rewarded with an immediate return to the lineup.

The midfield pairing of Kamil Conteh and Jamie Lindsay should not be altered. The former was substituted in the 55th minute last weekend and the call was not well received by fans, so perhaps Taylor will reconsider replicating that decision given his importance to the side.
