Malick Fofana's stance on January transfer revealed

It is expected that there will be a firesale at Olympique Lyonnais this January, however, Malick Fofana (19), one of the club’s most bankable assets, does not have his sights set on a move away, according to a report from L’Équipe.
Fofana has had an explosive start to the season for Lyon, netting five goals in his opening 15 games in all competitions. It is a run of form that has also seen him break into the Belgium national team. His value at this point is estimated upwards of €30m – a sum that would go a significant way to easing the financial concerns at OL.
Last week, Lyon were handed a provisional relegation to Ligue 2 amid growing debt. As a result, not only are Les Gones also forbidden from recruiting this January, they will also be obliged to sell, in order to balance the books. However, Fofana, whilst one of the more valuable players in this squad, is not looking to leave.
Fofana is happy at OL, and whilst he has set his sights on a move to the Premier League, allowing him to follow in the footsteps of his idol, Manchester City’s Jérémy Doku, he is not in a rush. In an ideal scenario, he wouldn’t leave at the end of the season as he hopes to guide Lyon into the UEFA Champions League. The decision, however, may be taken out of Fofana’s hands, if other players don’t leave OL in January.
