Liverpool have enjoyed a stunning start to life under Arne Slot, who has taken over seamlessly from Jurgen Klopp.

Slot had huge boots to fill at Liverpool after the departure of Klopp in the summer, with the German leaving Anfield a legend.

But Slot is really impressing at Liverpool, with the Merseyside club now top of both the Premier League and Champions League.

The Reds boast eight wins from 10 in the former, leaving them two points ahead of defending champions Man City.

And they are also two points clear in the latter under Slot, with the Reds the only club to have won all four of their matches so far.

Andy Roberton could leave Liverpool after Arne Slot snub

Slot has expertly managed his players so far, with the manager having needed to rotate his squad for the various competitions.

But the two latest matches strongly suggest that Anfield legend Andy Robertson is likely on his way out, with the left-back having lost his place to Kostas Tsimikas.

The Scotland international was left on the bench for the league clash with Brighton, before being given just 10 minutes as a substitute against Bayer Leverkusen in Europe.

In a remarkable switch with Tsimikas, Robertson is now the second-choice left-back, having instead played 90 minutes in the recent League Cup tie with the Seagulls.

Will Liverpool lose Andy Robertson and Trent Alexander-Arnold?

Much of the talk around full-backs leaving Liverpool has involved Trent Alexander-Arnold, whose contract will expire next summer.

He is seemingly being eyed by European giants Real Madrid, with a move to the Spanish capital likely to be hard to turn down for the player if it does arrive.

But there is now a chance Slot could lose Robertson as well, with the 30-year-old definitely not wanting to be a reserve player.

He has enjoyed several superb years at Liverpool since arriving from Hull City in July 2017, with the left-back winning the Premier League and Champions League.

But he still has plenty left to give on the pitch, with a return to the Anfield starting XI not likely anytime soon given the impressive displays of Tsimikas.

Robertson also has an international career to think about, with Scotland manager Steve Clarke not going to be happy with his captain if he continues to warm the bench at club level.

Scottish press labelled Robertson 'elite' in the recent international break, with the defender clearly still a very talented player at both ends of the pitch.
