Arne Slot is undoubtedly the man of the moment in European football after guiding Liverpool to the top of the Premier League and Champions League tables.

Slot has impressed David Moyes, with the former Everton manager certainly not alone in his admiration for the Dutchman.

Liverpool fans everywhere will be on cloud nine at this moment in time, with their club looking near-unbeatable under Slot.

They did, of course, suffer a disappointing Premier League loss to Nottingham Forest at Anfield, but aside from that defeat they are unbeaten.

Slot has secured eight wins and one draw so far, with that league run accompanied by four wins from four in the Champions League.

Moreover, the Merseyside club are into the quarter-finals of the League Cup, where they take on Southampton.

Former Chelsea player Gus Poyet is full of praise for the Dutchman, particularly given that he had the very unenviable task of succeeding Jurgen Klopp.

"Looking up from the manager point of view, great coach," Poyet said on talkSPORT. "I mean, the way he adapted, the way he made the team play his way knowing how difficult it will be, going top of the table, convincing everybody so quickly, that’s a massive impact.

"And it’s something really to analyse, because I think it’s not simple. We always talk about a big coach leaving after many years, how difficult it is for the one coming in, and he’s done a terrific job so far and I'm very pleased for him."

It goes without saying not only how hard Slot has worked to make it to Anfield, but to have made such an instant impact.

Pleasing the Liverpool supporters was never going to be easy, with the fanbase having been left on their knees after the exit of legendary figure Klopp.

But Slot has immediately picked them up, utilising the squad left by Klopp perfectly in the early stages of his tenure.

Some fans of the Merseyside club may be getting excited at the thought of silverware, but the boss will be doing his utmost to keep his players grounded.

They will know full well that their form, combined with the recent struggles of Man City and Arsenal, is a situation that will not last all season.

The Reds welcome Man City to Anfield soon, but have very tricky tests against the likes of Aston Villa and Real Madrid before then.
