After getting help from the fans in recent wins against Brighton and Bayer Leverkusen, Anfield will get another chance to show what it can do when Aston Villa visit.

After back-to-back home games where the Anfield crowd has made a difference, helping to fuel Arne Slot's Reds to a comeback 2-1 victory over Brighton last weekend before Tuesday's 4-0 second half demolition of German champions Bayer Leverkusen, Liverpool get a third home game in a row this weekend.

Aston Villa arrive at Anfield on Saturday, with last season's fourth-place finishers—once again in the mix and currently level on points with Chelsea and Arsenal in a battle for the final Champions League place—making for another difficult opponent, and Ibrahima Konaté is calling on supporters to make a difference again.

"We need Anfield," said the 25-year-old centre halves who has quickly established himself as one of the first names on the team sheet for new manager Slot. "Everyone when they play against Liverpool—especially when they come here—they just want to win because if you win against Liverpool, it's a big story for them.

"When they come here, they have more energy and they're playing with two thousand per cent and we need the fans. If the fans are with us, it's just unbelievable how we can play. I hope the fans will keep going like that until the end of the season. It's just the start. We just have to keep going and keep working."

Liverpool stand top of the Premier League as well as top of the Champions League, and a win on Saturday would ensure they head into the November international break with at least a two point cushion in the league on chasers Manchester City in second as well as third-place upstarts Nottingham Forest.

"Nothing is done now," Konaté added of the Reds' successes so far and the challenges that now lie ahead for this group. "We have so many games until the end of the season. I hope everyone will stay fit and healthy. It's the last game before the international break and we just hope for three points."
