Liverpool enjoyed their 15th win of the Premier League season with a dramatic 2-0 result away to Brentford.

Darwin Nunez made Premier League history as the Uruguay international scored two stoppage-time goals having come on from the bench to secure the win for Liverpool, who had close to 40 shots against the Bees.

With Trent Alexander-Arnold the star for Liverpool in west London, it was a dominant display from the Reds despite needing a late pair of goals to secure the win, with the Anfield side now six points clear of Arsenal with a game in hand.

Yet Steve McManaman has pointed out one thing about Mohamed Salah in recent weeks that could worry supporters.

Salah ‘hasn’t been at his best’ recently for Liverpool

Speaking on Premier League Goal Rush, the pundit noted that Salah’s form has taken a dip in recent weeks, with the Egyptian international failing to score or assist in his last three games in all competitions for Liverpool.

With 38 goal contributions in 30 games for Liverpool this season, Salah’s form has made the attacker arguably the best player in the planet, with the winger a key reason behind the Reds’ outstanding success under Arne Slot.

Yet Salah’s form and performances in the last three games have been a departure from the forward’s usual world-class self, and McManaman noted how the 32-year-old hasn’t been at his best for Liverpool in recent games.

The former Liverpool star said: “It’s important that Liverpool players stepped up today because Mo Salah hasn’t been at his best in the last three or four games, but it didn’t matter because it’s glossed over because another centre-forward came on today and scored.”

What’s the latest on Salah’s Liverpool contract?

Aside from Salah’s otherworldly form, the main talking point surrounding the attacker is his ongoing contract situation, with the Liverpool winger yet to sign new terms with the Reds with time quickly running out.

With Liverpool sources divided about Salah's future, it might be some time before supporters hear official word on what’s actually going to happen with the attacker, with no decision yet to be made from either party.

Indeed, Liverpool can’t afford to lose one of the greatest players in the form he’s currently in, and with each day as important as the next, work needs to begin soon on committing Salah to the Anfield side for the final few years of his career.
