Liverpool are on course to win the Premier League, yet every fan will agree that work needs to be done in the summer.

Jamie Carragher said Liverpool needed two new attackers after last week’s Carabao Cup final loss as the Reds plan to bring in at least five new signings, with every area of the pitch expected to see new recruits during the off-season.

One position that’s expected to see wholesale changes is the left-back area, with Andy Robertson aware of Liverpool’s search to find a long-term replacement for his role as Arne Slot looks to bring in his own man to take on the mantle.

And a Premier League scout has now shared his honest verdict on Liverpool’s interest in one left-back in particular.

‘Not surprising’ that Liverpool are interested in Rayan Ait-Nouri

Speaking to Africa Foot, Nottingham Forest scout and former Algeria international Cherif Oudjani has given his approval of Liverpool’s interest in Wolves defender Rayan Ait-Nouri, with the 23-year-old expected to leave in the summer.

Liverpool have been linked with Ait-Nouri for some time with the £38m-rated defender one of Wolves’ better players this season, and Oudjani believes the defender could be an ideal fit for the Reds if a deal was to go through.

The Forest scout said about Liverpool’s interest: "It's not surprising that they’re are interested in him. Liverpool will have a busy season in 2025/26, with the Champions League and three domestic competitions.

“The squad, which shouldn't change much, will be in demand, given the large number of international players, and the manager will rotate his players. Rayan has been playing in England since 2020. He's played nearly 150 Premier League matches, and he's young and efficient. It's no coincidence that he's on Liverpool's radar."

Would Rayan Ait-Nouri be a good signing for Liverpool?

Ait-Nouri has been a regular for Wolves ever since moving to the Premier League as a teenager from Angers, with the 23-year-old easily regarded as one of the best fullbacks in England outside of the traditional top-six.

Yet for the Reds, the Algerian international might be a poor signing given what the Reds are looking for in a new left-back, with Liverpool also eyeing Milos Kerkez after a breakout season in the Premier League with AFC Bournemouth.

Indeed, Kerkez’s style of play and age makes the Hungary international a more appealing choice for Liverpool that Ait-Nouri, with the Bournemouth star also better value for money considering what the Cherries re demanding for the young fullback.
