Mohamed Salah’s name has dominated the headlines in recent months due to his exploits on and off the pitch.
The Egyptian has raced off the blocks under Arne Slot and led from the front as the Reds lead the way in the Premier League and the UEFA Champions League.
Off the pitch, his future has emerged as the talk of the town as his current deal at Anfield expires at the end of the season.
Liverpool have offered Salah a new contract, but the two parties are yet to come to a mutual agreement.
The Egyptian has been speaking to the media about his future and in the meantime, it appears as if potential suitors have already held talks with his agent over a transfer at the end of the season.
PSG in talks with Liverpool attacker Mohamed Salah’s agents
Salah hasn’t shied away from expressing his thoughts to the media, with his contract tussle with Liverpool being played out quite publicly.
While he signaled his desire to remain at the club at the start of the season, he has now revealed that he is no closer to agreeing a contract extension.
When asked if he really believes this is his last season at the club, he said via Sky Sports: “So far, yes. It’s the last six months.
“There is no progress there. We are far away from any progress. So, we just need to wait and see.”
As his saga with Liverpool continues, Foot Mercato report that PSG are in touch with Salah’s agent Ramy Abbas, with the two parties in ‘continuous’ discussions over a summer transfer.
The Parisian giants are believed to be closely following the situation, while clubs from the Saudi Pro League have also been credited with an interest.
The report also states that Salah’s preference is to remain at Liverpool, which only re-iterates what he has publicly said so far.
Salah’s stats this season
Salah is playing the best football of his career this season, which is some achievement as he has been one of the most prolific forwards in Europe since moving to Anfield in 2017.
Mo Salah 24-25 | Apps | Goals | Assists | Mins played |
Premier League | 18 | 17 | 13 | 1.587′ |
UEFA Champions League | 6 | 2 | 4 | 513′ |
EFL Cup | 2 | 1 | – | 50′ |
He has already scored 20 goals across all competitions and will look to get in on the act once again tomorrow as Liverpool host Manchester United at Anfield.
Salah’s contract talks with the club haven’t affected his form in the slightest, but Liverpool will hope to tie him down to the new contract at the earliest to avoid the saga from dragging onto the business end of the season.
