Trent Alexander-Arnold’s Liverpool contract is due to end next summer, with Real Madrid keeping tabs on the Anfield defender.

The England international has been linked with a move to Los Blancos for some time, with Madrid eager to sign Alexander-Arnold to add to their growing list of superstar players having signed Kylian Mbappe this summer.

With little movement happening in regards to Liverpool awarding Alexander-Arnold a new contract, each day that passes with no concrete news increases the chances of the right-back actually leaving Anfield and making the switch to Madrid.

Yet Madrid’s chances of signing Alexander-Arnold might be lower than first thought.

Real Madrid eye Pedro Porro as Alexander-Arnold alternative

According to CaughtOffside, Madrid are preparing the groundwork to launch a potential move for Tottenham defender Pedro Porro if Los Blancos fail in their bid to lure Alexander-Arnold to the Spanish capital.

As per the report, Spurs could demand as much as €65m (£54m) for the former Sporting Lisbon star, with Carlo Ancelotti believed to be a fan of Porro as an alternative signing to Alexander-Arnold.
