Liverpool head coach Arne Slot reacted to his side's 2-1 victory over Chelsea and looked ahead to a difficult fixture list.

Liverpool's 2-1 victory over top four challengers Chelsea on Sunday might not have been their best performance of the season, but it may have been their toughest opponent so in beating them you could say the Reds passed a test.

Head coach Arne Slot, though, wouldn't have minded if his side's performance had been just a little better. Still, when you're top of the table after eight games and ahead of Arsenal and Manchester City, it's hard to quibble too much.

"If you win then you're always pleased about the outcome but in an ideal world we would've outplayed them completely," Slot said following the victory. "That's definitely not what we did. So I think it was an equal game, in my opinion.

"There were phases in the game we had to work really hard not to concede, but it's very pleasing to see that we did that. I think we all saw some great block tackles, and those moments are just as crucial as the goals we scored."

As for the question of tough opponents, Slot pointed to his side's earlier victory at historic rivals Manchester United as a test of a match—but said in the end the real challenge is the dense schedule more than any singular opponent.

"The media said this was our first big test but I think if you go to Old Trafford that is a test as well," Slot added. "I think I said on Friday don't judge us on this week, judge us after six, seven, eight more games. That's also what I say now.

"Because after this Wednesday is Leipzig, Sunday is Arsenal, then Brighton, Brighton again, then Leverkusen and Aston Villa. This is our biggest test, Champions League and Premier League and the hardest games three times a week."
