Sevilla will sell defender Loïc Badé for a fee well below his €60m release clause and are even hoping big clubs come calling for him.

That's according to AS and Estadio Deportivo, who both cover Liverpool scouting the defender in the 5-1 defeat to Barcelona on Sunday.

AS report that Liverpool continue to keep Badé on their list of possible centre-backs to potentially replace Virgil van Dijk, whose contract situation is yet to be resolved.

They were at Montjuïc on Sunday to watch him in the clash against Barcelona. Sevilla were beaten 5-1 in that game, but the defender was among the better performers in that defeat and provided a super 60 metre-pass to assist Stanis Idumbo's consolation goal.

He's the leader in Sevilla's defence and there is no doubt at the Spanish club he will be leaving in a big sale sooner rather than later.

In fact, he was close to going in the summer when Stuttgart and Roma both offered €20m but the player rejected both options.

His current release clause in €60m but Sevilla will, 'without a doubt' sell him for 'considerably less money' if necessary, because of their financial problems. They need transfers and Badé represents a very saleable asset.

Estadio Deportivo add to this and say that Sevilla are even hoping that there will be clubs of Liverpool's stature moving for him in the near future.

They echo the idea that Sevilla would be more than content with a figure far below the €60m release clause. That's because they only paid €12m to sign him from Rennes last summer.

There's absolutely a deal there to be done then for the Reds, although it may all depend on what happens with Van Dijk, who has confirmed talks are ongoing over an extension.
