Kobbie Mainoo and Alejandro Garnacho are amongst the stars Manchester United could sell if the right price was offered, talkSPORT understands.

The Red Devils are willing to reluctantly sell homegrown players in order to comply with financial rules.

talkSPORT also understands that Mainoo’s camp have no intention of leaving Old Trafford.

The club are not actively looking to sell either of the youngsters.

Ruben Amorim’s side must comply with the league’s Profit and Sustainability Rules as well as Financial Fair Play.

The Red Devils ended last season with losses of £113.2million but are understood to be confident they remain compliant with the regulations.

Despite that, their £200million summer spending spree means players must be sold if there are to be reinforcements in 2025.

Homegrown players such as Mainoo and Garnacho would provide the biggest boost to United’s status regarding financial rules.

Products of the club’s youth system would be sold for pure profit having been developed internally rather than bought from elsewhere.

Marcus Rashford also falls into the same group, with the Red Devils already working to sell the 27-year-old.

The forward is currently out of favour under Amorim and has said he is ready for a ‘new challenge’ amid loan interest from Borussia Dortmund.

As for Mainoo, his contract is not set to expire until the summer of 2027, with the club holding the option for a further year.

Meanwhile, Garnacho extended his deal at Old Trafford last year through to 2028.

Elsewhere, the potential sale of Casemiro would provide an added boost due to his high wages.

There is also loan interest in Antony this month while talkSPORT understands Joshua Zirkzee could move to Juventus in a swap deal for Dusan Vlahovic.
