Many things remain up in the air at Rangers at the present moment.
The 49ers Enterprises takeover is bringing optimism and hope to the club and fan base but at the same time, nobody knows exactly how things will look under he new owners.
The US takeover at Ibrox is in the final stages and is expected to be rubberstamped and announced before the end of the current season in May.
It is expected Rangers will have increased transfer funds to spend during the summer window with supporters hoping the club will be able to attract a higher calibre of player that then go on and challenge for the league title.
But again, nobody knows exactly how things will look. The 49ers actually made a profit in their first transfer window at Leeds so there’s a chance bigger assets are sold and replaced by younger players at a lower price.
As a result of all of this, Rangers‘ transfer plans for the summer are currently described as “fluid.”
Rangers summer transfer plans addressed
That’s what’s being reported by the Rangers Review, who state the current situation around changes in the boardroom is dictating that.
Gers are still on the hunt for a new sporting director and will quite possibly be appointing a new manager and both those key figures would be central to recruitment plans.
There will be changes in the boardroom too while the club still needs to find a head of football operations after Creag Robertson’s departure.

Once these positions are filled there will be a lot of work to do in a short period. And the report adds there was a key issue with the last summer window.
The recruitment process led to a large volume of players being identified and making it to the final stage of the the process, requiring extra work to do the relevant checks on each one. That wasn’t ideal given the need to get off and running in the league and European games.
Koppen needs Rangers help
Technical director Nils Koppen will still be central to the recruitment process and has some success stories to his name already – like Hamza Igamane, Nico Raskin, Mohamed Diomande while Jefte has his faults but could still make the club money.
But he has other responsibilities too after moving from head of recruitment to his current role and the appointment of a sporting director and manager will be key in helping with player identification.
The strategy of identifying young players like Igamane and Jefte will likely be continued with but Rangers could also do with some players who are experienced and ready to be mainstays.
