Rangers transfer targets and ex-players: The free agent XI still available to sign

The free agent market is one that has grown over the years as football becomes more competitive with Rangers always on the look out for a bargain.
Nothing happened, although Philippe Clement hinted that that they might exploit it for a No.6 after the transfer window shut.
With the international break meaning there will be no Rangers action for two weeks, here is an XI that the manager could approach to bolster his options.
The realistic free agent XI Rangers could sign
There are no rules, however, there is an attempt to keep the team realistic, or to have some sort of link to Rangers, this also isn't a "the manager should sign X, Y and Z" suggestion either.
Loris Karius was linked to Rangers as a possible replacement for Allan McGregor, but it appears his Champions League horror show for Liverpool against Real Madrid continues to put potential suitors off.
The two full-backs both came through Man Utd's academy and Brandon Williams was suggested as a possible target in the summer.
At right-back, it is a surprise to see Tomothy Fosu-Mensah without a club after leaving Bayer Leverkusen.
With three caps for the Netherlands and, at only 26-years old, someone could pick up a bargain.
There is a shortage of realistic centre-halves so Daniel Amartey lines up in the middle on his own having been mentioned as a possible option for Giovanni van Bronckhorst in 2022.
Midfield and attack see familiar faces
Midfield sees two players linked with Rangers and one who used to be at the club.
In the defensive midfield role, Muhamed Besic anchors the engine room with Dele Alli and Ovie Ejaria ahead of him.
Alli and Ejaria haven't had their troubles to seek in recent years with most of their battles being off the pitch.
The forward line has a familiar look. A lot of Rangers fans would be quite happy to see Ryan Kent back at the club whilst Alex Pitu nearly joined compatriot Ianis Hagi before moving to France only to see Bordeaux's financial woes see him without a team.
On the opposite wing to Pitu is Brandon Barker, a player who every manager and ex-teammate says is the best in training, but one that can't replicate it when the pressure is on.
Leading the line? Kemar Roofe, maybe worth a short-term deal, if he could just stay fit…
