Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou publicly slammed midfielder Yves Bissouma after a disappointing performance.
In the Europa League, they overcame the 1-0 deficit against AZ in the first leg to beat them 3-1 in the second leg and advance to the next round.
However, they suffered yet another setback in the Premier League, as their poor domestic form continued.
They put in a sluggish performance against the Cottagers as they fell to a 2-0 defeat.
The home side scored twice in 10 minutes to secure all three points and keep their European dream alive.
Muniz scored in the 78th minute before former Spurs ace Ryan Sessegnon made it 2-0 on the 88th minute.
Ange Postecoglou slams Tottenham midfielder Yves Bissouma
While there were a number of disappointing performances, Ange Postecoglou publicly slammed Bissouma for his effort.
The Mali midfielder only lasted 45 minutes with Ange brutally taking him off at half-time.
Speaking to the media after the game, Slot did not hold back in his criticism of the midfielder.
He said:
"I feel Biss sometimes lets the game drift by him, he needs to be more dominant. Today, we needed more in that position. I had needed him to play because he hasn't played a lot. At the same time, I need him to perform. It is safe to say maybe Biss and a few guys lack a bit of confidence but at this stage of the season we need people to perform."
The Malian international, who is under contract until 2026, has endured an inconsistent campaign.
Reports indicate that Tottenham may consider offloading him in the summer to prevent the risk of losing him on a free transfer the following year.
Ange appears to be running out patience with him and could be sanctioning his transfer away in the summer.
That is ofcourse if he is still in charge considering the mounting pressure on the Australian.
It is extremely likely that the Europa League is the final straw for Postecoglou.
If Ange fails to deliver in the European competition, he could potentially be sacked, with several names under consideration as replacement.
