Coral Haines was understandably delighted after scoring a special goal in Watford FC Women’s 2-0 win over Hashtag United.
Haines fired home spectacularly from 30 yards for the Golden Girls' second as table toppers Hashtag were subjected to just their second league defeat of the season.
“To be honest with you I just remember Meg [Chandler] played a throw-in and it was a bit of a scramble,” said Haines to watfordfc.com.
“And I just hit it, and I saw that the keeper was kind of off her line, so I thought I’d give it a go.”
On the three points, Haines added: “At the end of the day we deserved the win.
“I think that’s the most important thing from today, is that we’re scoring goals.
“We scored two goals; we scored five goals last week as well.
“So, I think that’s as best as it feels when we’re scoring goals, playing well and winning games.”
Jessie Gale had given the Hornets the lead in the FA Women’s National League Southern Premier Division clash, a repeat of the opening weekend fixture which went Hashtag’s way.
“I think we’ve been quite confident the whole of the season because we’ve played some really good football,” said Haines, with Watford now sixth.
“We’ve dominated pretty much every game that we’ve played.
“So to actually find the end product with it as well, it’s just really encouraging for us.
“The girls are really buzzing with all of that.”
