Watford fan Maddie Boakes was given two hospitality tickets to the Hornets' game against Swansea City earlier this month after winning the January prize draw run in association with club partner Lowr, the fan sustainability platform.
Maddie entered the competition by logging her travel to and from Watford matches via the sustainability section of the club app.
The initiative comes with the club aiming to reduce its carbon emissions, with supporter travel being the largest contributor.
She learnt about the competition through her uncle Gary, who won the Watford FC travel bundle back in November.
“I honestly didn’t think I’d win, I did it a few times, then one evening I got the email saying I’d won,” said Maddie.
“My uncle won the travel pack, and he told me to do it because it’s quick and easy to set up your journey.”
Maddie has Mattie Pollock on the back of her shirt, and her favourite game she has been to was the late 2-1 win away at Blackburn during the 2023/24 season.
She added: “It takes no time at all to do after a game, you can choose a previous route that you’ve done or set up a new one in a couple of minutes.”
Maddie goes to matches with her dad and has been a Watford fan from a very early age.
“My parents made me do a Watford photoshoot when I was a baby, and from then I was a Watford kid,” she said.
“The whole of my dad’s family is from Watford, so the support for the club runs in the family.”
The competition is now open for March, with the winner getting the chance to plant a tree at the training ground with a player.
Fans using the app can earn up to four tickets for the monthly draw by collecting points in different ways.
These include logging your matchday travel, reading an article and answering a question at the end, answering weekly quiz questions and committing to a sustainable pledge.
