Sadio Mane-owned Bourges seal Lamine Sane deal

Retired Senegalese defender-come-midfielder Lamine Sane has joined Bourges Foot 18 who are owned by his former Senegal teammate Sadio Mane.
Sane retired from professional football in 2020 having plied his trade in Germany for Werder Bremen, France for FC Girondins de Bordeaux, USA for Orlando City, and Netherlands for FC Utrecht.
Bourges, who were bought by current Al Nassr winger Mane in October 2023, have now announced Sane’s appointment as they seek promotion from the French National Championship 2 to the Championnat National.
“We are delighted to announce the arrival of Lamine Sané at Bourges FC as assistant coach alongside by Romain Revelli for our team playing in National 2,” a club statement read.
“Lamine Sané, a Senegalese international with 35 caps, left his mark on African football by participating in the 2012 and 2015 African Cups of Nations.
“Born on March 22, 1987, in Villeneuve-sur-Lot, this central defender has dual French and Senegalese nationality.”
Bourges are currently placed ninth in the National Championship 2 Group B standings and they will face Granville on Friday.
