Nottingham Forest are going in search of a couple of new additions before the transfer window closes next Monday night.

Evangelos Marinakis would like some reinforcements this month. However, given that Forest are in the market for a new forward, however, any deals might prove complex to do.

Matheus Cunha is wanted by Forest. He’s thought to be the club’s top target but with Cunha being valued at £70 million that deal will prove tricky during the mid-season window.

Yoane Wissa is another target for Forest this month. As a further striker currently operating in the Premier League, Brentford don’t want a rival to snare him and again it’s a tough deal to do.

Jamie Redknapp thinks Wissa is worth £40 million to any club wanting to sign him this month. Wissa, however, has remained coy when asked about possibly moving to Forest.

With Marinakis leaving no stone unturned this season, we’re expecting a busy few days. Forest might not get lots of players in, but there are going to be a number of links on the horizon before the window slams shut.

Nottingham Forest mooted as destination for Maurits Kjaergaard

The Reds are going to focus on the here and now for definite. However, that doesn’t mean that the club will completely abandon any plans to get any future stars through the door at the City Ground.

According to the Daily Mail, Forest and Wolves could move for Kjaergaard before the window slams shut. The Salzburg player is a central midfielder who has been part of the club’s Champions League squad this season.

The 21-year-old has been at Salzburg since 2021 when he switched from divisional rivals FC Liefering. He has started to make waves this season, scoring five goals and registering three assists during 12 appearances for the club.

However, the Austrian Bundesliga isn’t where his future lies. Instead, he now has a number of clubs seemingly watching him, with Forest and Wolves tipped as two clubs who might move for him in the near future.

What Rouven Schroder said about Maurits Kjaergaard

The current sporting director at RB Leipzig used to be in place at Salzburg and he has previously spoken about Kjaergaard, calling him ‘indispensable’.

The player is set to make waves in professional football during his career. Forest signed Elliot Anderson last summer, with the club seemingly wanting to ensure the club is in good shape in the future.

Kjaergaard does feel like he would be a very useful addition to the ranks. He typically plays as a conventional central midfielder and has made 99 appearances for Salzburg in his career.

The player who is on the cusp of the Denmark national team might not be Forest’s priority for this window. However, he could be one to watch for the club during the summer window.
