Tottenham Hotspur’s schedule is now getting up and running properly with two games a week becoming the new norm.

Last season, Ange Postecoglou did not have to worry about dealing with European football with Tottenham failing to qualify for either of the three competitions.

This time around, Spurs will be competing in the Europa League and their campaign will get up and running on Thursday night.

The Lilywhites will kick off their European adventure against Qarabag in north London with the club hosting an open training session on Wednesday afternoon.

Postecoglou is still managing a number of injury issues at Tottenham with Richarlison remaining sidelined through his respective injury.

With Spurs needing to balance their injury woes and the homegrown quota in the European competition, there were some interesting inclusions in training at Hotspur Way.

Tottenham youngster spotted in Wednesday’s training

On Tuesday night, Tottenham’s U21s side were in action where there were some notable absences from the matchday squad.

Mikey Moore was one of the players not on display for Tottenham’s U21s on Tuesday in their defeat to Exeter City in the Football League Trophy.

Another of the youth side’s main players, Will Lankshear, was also absent from the game in Devon.

According to journalist Alasdair Gold, Lankshear was one of the youngsters training with the senior side ahead of the game on Thursday.

Lankshear was included in the Europa League side with Tottenham struggling to meet their homegrown quota.

But it is also an opportunity for the youngster to earn himself some first team minutes with Dominic Solanke getting the nod in the Premier League.

Moore was also spotted in training at Hotspur Way with the 17-year-old also eyeing his potential opportunity from the starting XI.

Should Will Lankshear start vs Qarabag?

With Richarlison suffering through injury, Tottenham are back down to just one first team striker with Solanke.

And the summer signing has already been sidelined himself this season after suffering an injury in the season opener.

With this in mind, Spurs need to manage Solanke’s game time to avoid any fatigue with the £65m signing and Thursday could offer the perfect opportunity to start Lankshear.

But there may also be a concern with the ‘brilliant‘ Lankshear given he has only just returned from his own injury issue over the last week or so.
