Every Premier League club's most famous fan

The Premier League is the biggest competition in the world and attracts plenty of A-List stars.

All 20 clubs have some very famous fans from across the globe. Some attend games every week while others try and get to their beloved sides whenever their busy schedules allow.

But who is each Premier League club’s most famous fan? Let’s look at the biggest star from each top-flight team.

Arsenal – Keir Starmer

As far as fame goes, there is many bigger than the prime minister.

Sir Keir Starmer has shared his love for Arsenal on many occasions and has often been spotted at the Emirates Stadium and even at away games.

Starmer was forced to defend his decision to accept free hospitality tickets in September 2024 after claiming he can no longer use his normal seats since taking on his new role.

He told the BBC that he had been using his season ticket to watch the club for “many, many years” and even as prime minister, wouldn’t be giving up his hobby.

Other notable fans of the Gunners include actor Idris Elba, journalist Piers Morgan, Mick Jagger, and even the late Queen Elizabeth II.

Aston Villa – Prince William

I said that there can’t be many bigger than the prime minister of the country when it comes to famous faces supporting a club, but Prince William is an exception.

The Duke of Cambridge is a huge fan of Aston Villa and has often been spotted at Villa Park to attend games.

Having studied at Birmingham University, he also admitted that he didn’t want to support the same team as all of his other friends.

Prince William is also joined by Hollywood actor Tom Hanks, who has also been seen attending games in the past.

AFC Bournemouth – Alex James

Blur bassist and musical legend Alex James is reportedly said to be Bournemouth’s most famous fan.

We could’ve gone with Michael B.Jordan, but due to becoming a part-owner of the club, that would feel like a conflict of interest.

James once revealed in an episode of Soccer AM that he was a supporter of the Cherries, so we’ll take his word for it.

Brentford – Dean Gaffney

The former Eastenders actor is a huge Brentford fan according to multiple sources.

Gaffney’s love for Brentford was revealed in January 2024 after he had been accidentally ran over by Chelsea defender Wesley Fofana in London.

At the time, a source close to the 45-year-old told The Sun: ” Dean's a Brentford fan and joked about a star of a rival club taking out a well-known fan of their neighbours!"

Brighton and Hove Albion – Fatboy Slim

The superstar DJ is from Brighton so naturally, is a big Brighton and Hove Albion fan.

His music is often played before games at the Amex Stadium to get fans pumped up and he has also become a shareholder of the club.

Fatboy Slim, real name Norman Cook, has even sponsored the Seagulls’ shirts through his label Skint Records and also played a role in unveiling new kits.

Chelsea – Gordon Ramsay

There are a lot of names who could’ve been picked for this suggestion but we could only pick one and decided to choose Gordon Ramsay.

Ramsay actually played for the Rangers youth team growing up, but his main true love has always been Chelsea.

The world-renowned chef is often spotted at Stamford Bridge.

Other famous Blues fans include fellow chef Nigella Lawson, Suggs – the leader singer of Madness, Lord Sebastian Coe, and former Arsenal star Paul Merson.

Crystal Palace – Liam Neeson

Born in Northern Ireland but moving to London in his 30s, Liam Neeson wanted to find a side to support and ended up option for south London, choosing Crystal Palace.

Neeson always tries to get to Selhurst Park when he can and club chairman Steve Parish once revealed that the actor has even asked for spare tickets in the past.

Jo Brand and Timothy Spall are two other famous fans of the Eagles.

Everton – Paul McCartney

Sir Paul McCartney is easily one of Everton’s most famous supporters.

The Beatles star and current solo artist has admitted he isn’t a huge follower of the club or football itself, but revealed he would often go to Goodison Park with his uncles when younger.

Dame Judi Dench, boxer Tony Bellew, and Sylvester Stallone are also fellow Toffees fans.

Fulham – Margot Robbie

To everybody’s surprise, actress Margot Robbie revealed in 2014 that he was a Fulham fan.

During promotion for the hit classic ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’, Robbie broke the news before reaffirming her status as a Fulham supporter in 2018 when giving an interview about her then-latest film ‘I, Tonya’.

"I've pledged my allegiance to Fulham so I want Fulham to win,” she said.

Ipswich Town – Ed Sheeran

Ed Sheeran has always been vocal about his support for Ipswich Town and even owns part of the club after purchasing a minority stake in August 2024.

His purchase is only as a ‘passive investor’, and Sheeran isn’t actually on the club’s board.

Sheeran even sponsors the club’s kits and has been spotted at Portman Road multiple times this season.

Leicester City – Gary Lineker

Former players rarely go on to become the club’s most famous fan, but that’s the case with Gary Lineker.

The Match of the Day presenter started his career at Leicester City and became a legend before moving on to play for the likes of Everton and Barcelona.

After retiring, Lineker saved the club as part of a consortium in 2002 and even presented the first episode of Match of the Day for the 2016/17 season in his underpants as part of a promise if Leicester won the Premier League.

Liverpool – Lana Del Rey

Lana Del Rey admitted that she became a Liverpool fan thanks to her former manager after noticing that his mood was dependent on the Reds’ performance.

The singer made her first trip to Anfield in 2013 and even recorded a special cover of the club’s anthem ‘You’ll Never Walk Alone’ as part of a special documentary.

Liverpool has a wide array of celebrity supporters such as Daniel Craig, Ricky Tomlinson, and Dr Dre.

Manchester City – Noel and Liam Gallagher

Look no further than the two Rock N’Roll stars when it comes to Manchester City-supporting celebrities.

Noel Gallagher is a regular attendee at the Etihad Stadium and has often been spotted in amongst the fans at cup finals.

Liam hasn’t been seen at the ground in a long time but often tweets about Man City and following the news the two brothers had made up and will be performing as Oasis again in 2025, we may see them attend a game together again.

Manchester United – Usain Bolt

Similarly to Liverpool, there were so many to pick, but Usain Bolt might be the most active of Manchester United fans around.

Bolt even had a brief trial at the club and has long championed his love for the Red Devils.

Although he’s not a regular at Old Trafford due to work commitments, the fastest man on Earth is always cheering from wherever he is around the world.

Newcastle United – Matt Hancock

The former health secretary made his name during the Covid-19 crisis and has claimed that he is a Newcastle United fan thanks to his uncle Dave.

Hancock said he would often go to games at St James’ Park growing up.

Nottingham Forest – Stuart Broad

Cricket legend Stuart Broad has always been a huge fan of Nottingham Forest and has been welcomed onto the pitch many times at the City Ground.

When he wasn’t taking wickets for England or working in the commentary booth like he is now, Broad would be watching Forest in action and is just one of many recognisable faces affiliated to the East Midlands club.

Southampton – Rishi Sunak

Rishi Sunak does actually like football, whether you believe him or not, and has always been a Southampton fan.

Sunak managed to get to games where he could as prime minister and was spotted at St Mary’s Stadium numerous times last season.

He will no doubt be delighted to see the Saints back in the top flight after they won the Championship play-offs at the first attempt.

Tottenham Hotspur – Sir Alan Sugar

The famous businessman and face of the BBC One show The Apprentice, Sir Alan Sugar is well known to many.

Lord Sugar used to own Tottenham Hotspur back in the day before selling his stake in the club for £25m in 2007 and shares plenty of passion for the Lilywhites on his social media accounts.

West Ham United – James Corden

James Corden is a big West Ham United fan and will try to get that noticed wherever he can.

Even in acting, his popular character ‘Smithy’ from BBC comedy Gavin and Stacey is a West Ham fan.

Due to spending the majority of his time in the USA these days, Corden is rarely seen at the London Stadium but cheers them on from Stateside.

Wolves – Mark Hamill

Yep, you read that right. Star Wars legend Mark Hamill is rumoured to be a Wolves fan.

His decision to support the West Midlands club actually occurred by accident after he liked a tweet asking if he liked Wolves in 2017.

The actor who played Luke Skywalker misunderstood the message and thought the user was referring to the animal, not the club.

He responded to the claims later on, adding: “everyone got so excited HAD to be a fan”.
