Kyle Walker has one of the best defenders in world football for more than a decade now.

The right-back is one of the fastest and strongest defenders around, and most players don't even try to take the England international on these days.

Speaking on his podcast, the defender has been discussing how players now shirk away from running at him due to his reputation as an incredible one-on-one defender.

Walker says that there aren't many players who go at him these days, but he says that he does respect those players that give it a go.

Indeed, Walker says that he has a lot of respect for a player like Anthony Gordon, stating that the £40mNewcastle man will always have a go at him when they play.

Kyle Walker respects Anthony Gordon

Walker named Gordon as a player he really respects.

"Not a lot of players now try to run me, the ones who do try I respect them more because they have tried. For example, Anthony Gordon, he will have a go at me every time and for that I have a lot of respect for him because he can keep going and he's wanting to improve," Walker said.

Anthony Gordon’s record vs Kyle Walker

Kyle Walker says that players don't try to run at him these days, and it's not hard to understand why.

Indeed, running at Walker is something of a pointless endeavour.

The full-back is simply too fast, too strong and too smart for anyone to get the better of him.

Harry Kane has named Walker as the toughest player he’s ever trained against in the past.

Walker has pocketed the likes of Kylian Mbappe and Vinicius Jr in the past, and most wingers know that they're not winning this match up.

Anthony Gordon does have a go at Walker in fairness, but his record against Manchester City isn't great.

Gordon has scored just one goal in seven appearances against City, while he's lost against the Premier League champions on six occasions, winning just once.

Simply put, most wingers stand no chance against Kyle Walker, so running at him is just a waste of everyone's time.
