Nottingham Forest forward Jota Silva has admitted he wants to return to Vitória Guimarães at some point in future if he can.

The Portuguese forward has been speaking to O Jogo about his move to Nottingham Forest this summer.

The 25-year-old was one of several new faces added to Nuno Espirito Santo's squad in the summer transfer window as they looked to refresh the squad and avoid another relegation battle.

The move brought an end to a successful two-year spell with Vitória for the player, who managed 20 goals and 11 assists in 83 games after arriving for €190,000 in 2022.

It's been a steady rise up the divisions for him up to this point after he began his career at Sousense, moving to Espinho, Leixões and then Casa Pia before his eventual arrival at Vitoria Guimarães.

He'd been linked with a move to the Premier League for some time and reports in Portugal had made it clear he was keen on the idea before Nottingham Forest got the deal done.

He's now keen to make an impression in England but would like to return to his former club at some point if his career will allow it.

"Very. It was very difficult," he said when asked if it was difficult to leave Vitória.

"It is my club, my second home. I spent two fantastic years there. I have no words to describe what I went through.

"I left a family. I have contact with everyone, without exception. My story there is not over. I want to go back one day. I don’t know (when), but one day, and if I am physically well, I want to go back to making the contribution that I always want to make to the teams I play for.

"My story at Vitória, I hope, is not over, I want to go back and feel the love and everything that comes with playing for Vitória."
