Man City face crushing '£60m' blow - Keith Wyness

Everton's former chief Keith Wyness has claimed failing to qualify for the Champions League would see revenues at Man City drop between “£40-60million”.
Speaking on the new edition of Football Insider's Inside Track podcast, the 66-year-old – who served as CEO at Goodison Park between 2004 and 2009 and now runs a football consultancy advising elite clubs – insisted other clubs would find that loss a matter of “life or death”, but suggested City are well-run and can absorb the blow.
Man City sit sixth in the Premier League at the halfway point of the 2024-25 campaign after winning just two of their last 10 top-flight games.
Pep Guardiola’s side are currently four points away from fourth-place Chelsea.
City last failed to qualify for the Champions League in the 2009-10 season, when they finished fifth and secured a place in the Europa League.
Man City could lose out on ‘£60m’ without top-four finish, says Wyness
Wyness told Football Insider's Insider Track podcast: "You're looking at City taking a drop of between £40-60million if they don't make it into the Champions League.
"That's with the Europa League qualification instead.
"It's hard to think of them not being ever-present in the competition, but it could easily be a drop of that much.
"City have been run very well, so it won't be a drop that is life and death – as it would be for other clubs.
"I think they could cope with that drop for a season or two."
